A 31-year-old Jamaica Plain man was arrested Sunday after allegedly approaching a 4-year-old girl playing outside in the Boston neighborhood and then picking her up and kissing her.
Anthony Jackson was charged with kidnapping a child under 16 and indecent assault and battery on a child, according to Boston police.
Officers responded to a report of a fight shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday. According to police, here’s what transpired:
On arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who stated that they observed an unknown male approach a four-year-old victim who was outside playing. The suspect took the four-year-old by the hand, picked her up and kissed her. He then took several steps while holding her and proceeded to walk away. A witness yelled to the suspect to put the child down and then alerted the victim’s family members who chased the suspect and were able to stop him in the area.

Anthony Jackson, 31, of Jamaica Plain, is charged with kidnapping a child under 16 and indecent assault and battery on a child. He was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Monday and will be sent to Bridgewater State Hospital for evaluation.

BOSTON (CBS) A Boston man is being held without bail pending an evaluation after he allegedly tried to kidnap a child who was playing outside in Jamaica Plain. Police were called to Gay Head Street around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a fight.
Witnesses told police a man, later identified as 31-year-old Anthony Jackson of Jamaica Plain, went up to the four-year-old girl, took her by the hand, picked her up, and kissed her.
He then started to walk away with the girl, police said.
Man arrested for fatal September shooting in Roxbury Charlie McKenna
A 22-year-old Jamaica Plain man is facing a murder charge in a fatal shooting in September in Boston, police said.
Andy Febres was arrested Wednesday in Revere by the Boston Police Fugitive Unit on an outstanding warrant for accessory after the fact of murder in Roxbury District Court, police said in a statement.
Febres is also facing charges of murder and assault to murder, according to Boston Municipal Court records.
He was arraigned Thursday in the Roxbury Division of Boston Municipal Court. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf to all charges, and he was ordered held, according to court records.
