CORVALLIS, Mont. - The barricaded suspect was found dead in his home Wednesday at 10 p.m., the Ravalli County Sheriff s Office said.
According to a release from RCSO, the suspect ended the on-going communication with negotiators.
Missoula and Flathead County Special response Teams came to assist. To regain contact with the suspect, authorities used distraction devices and mechanical methods.Â
Authorities sent a robot into the home that found the suspect dead of an apparent suicide gunshot, RCSO said.
RCSO said the suspect apparently shot and killed his dog.
The suspects identity is not being released at this time.
Standoff with law enforcement in Corvallis continues into Wednesday

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton says a K9 was used, along with what was described as less lethal force options, but the stalemate continues.
In a news release early Wednesday morning, the sheriff says that no shots have been fired and a number of residents are still evacuated from the neighborhood for their safety and to allow movement of resources.
Sheriff Holton said that additional resources are being assessed for Wednesday to peacefully end the stand-off, although he didn t give specific details.

While Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton says negotiations with the 35-year-old armed man who barricaded himself inside a home are continuing, the man has refused to surrender.
âDue to the significant threat to the public additional homes were evacuated Wednesday morning,â a news release states,
The man is currently wanted for both misdemeanor and felony charges.
Due to mental health concerns, law enforcement is continuing to be patient in resolving the situation. Our number one priority is to negotiate the safe surrender of this suspect without anyone getting hurt. That said, the suspect has to make the decision to cooperate, and no one can make that decision for him,â Sheriff Holton stated.
