43-year-old Landon Dwayne Jimmerson of Breaux Bridge now sits in the St. Landry Parish Jail after a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the clothes he wore during two armed robberies he allegedly committed led to him being arrested.
According to a press release from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff s Office, the Lucky s 190 Truck Stop in Opelousas was robbed at gunpoint on December 5, 2020. Investigators say a suspect described as a black male wearing a blue sweatshirt with grey trim around the neck area, green camouflage pants, a brown cap and grey tennis shoes went inside the store with a gun, demanded money from an employee and ran away.

EUNICE, La. â Police have released the names of the two people killed in a shooting Wednesday night.
Chris Jones, 58, and Marshall Weston III, 17, were killed in the shooting at the intersection of E. Laurel Avenue and Nimitz Street in Eunice, according to Chief Randy Fontenot.
Police say they received a telephone call from the Acadian Medical Center about a gunshot victim being dropped off at the door to the emergency room. The passengers in a black or dark-colored pickup truck had placed the victim at the door, banged on the door, and then fled from the hospital. The victim died from his injuries.

A Church Point man is facing charges after the St. Landry Parish Sheriff s Office said he stabbed a woman and wouldn t let her call authorities for help.
According to law enforcement, Anthony Collins Jr. and the woman had an argument at a home on Leslie Road in Church Point. During the argument, Collins threatened the woman s life and stabbed her on the right side of her waist and repeatedly slapped her, sheriff s office spokesperson Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux said in a release.
When the woman tried to call emergency services, Collins took the phone and wouldn t allow her to call for help. He also would not let her leave the house to seek aid, Thibodeaux said.
