(WBRC) - ALEA State Troopers showed off the pounds of drugs they took off the streets in the Tuscumbia area. Troopers said on April 7, 2021, after a lengthy and thorough investigation into drug trafficking complaints, ALEA’s Region E Drug Enforcement Task Force (DTF) obtained and served two search warrants. The warrants were executed at a warehouse near Highway 72 and the other was at a storage locker at a facility near 6th Street.

Eight arrested on drug charges this week in Ogdensburg

Ogdensburg City Police seized cash, controlled substances and methamphetamine manufacturing materials as part of the separate investigations. Jade R. Harper, 45, Melinda A. Montroy, 35, and Dominic T. Mashaw, 19, all of Ogdensburg, were each charged Feb. 18, with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a felony. The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at 11 Groves Street, where methamphetamine manufacturing components were allegedly located. All three were released on their own recognizance. Charles Watford, 36, and Jasmine Merrero, 30, both of Brooklyn, were each charged Tuesday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. During a traffic stop, police allegedly found the pair in possession of an unspecified amount of cocaine and more than $18,000 in U.S. currency. They were released on appearance tickets.

Cota, 42, of Lisbon on Wednesday around 10 a.m. They say he was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, a class D felony. Cota allegedly possessed several components and lab equipment used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. He was arraigned by Judge Rachelle Foster of the Town of Canton court and released with orders to return to Lisbon court on March 9, police said. The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Ogdensburg Police Department, New York State Police CCSERT, New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force (SLCDTF).
