Merrill police: Parents accused of neglect in death of 15-month-old

View Comments MERRILL - A 15-month-old boy who died in November had pneumonia and injuries to his skin, according to complaints filed Tuesday against his parents. Cody G. Robertson, 25, and Amber Boyd, 22, both are facing charges of child neglect resulting in death. Lincoln County Circuit Judge Jay Tlusty issued arrest warrants for both Boyd and Robertson on Wednesday, and officers arrested Robertson on Wednesday morning. Boyd was also taken into custody in Merrill Wednesday and taken to the Lincoln County Jail. Tlusty set a $25,000 cash bond and $25,000 signature bond for Robertson on Wednesday afternoon. As one of the conditions of the bond, Tlusty ordered Robertson to have no contact with any children.

UPDATE: Two Arrested for Child Death in Lincoln County By Liz Holbrook May 19, 2021 | 3:27 PM MERRILL, WI (WSAU) One person is in jail and authorities are looking for another in an investigation into the death of a child. A release from Lincoln County Sheriff Ken Schneider says that 25-year-old Cody Gene Robertson has been arrested in the 6-month investigation into the death of a child. A warrant was issued for 22-year-old Amber Paige Boyd. She was found taken into custody during a traffic stop in Merrill on Wednesday evening. Robertson was taken into custody on Wednesday for the incident that happened in November of 2020 at a Town of Corning home. According to court documents, Boyd called the police on November 12th saying her baby wasn’t breathing. Police say the child had numerous bruises on his face, head, arms, and legs and appeared to have makeup covering scabs on his head.

Credit Lincoln County Sheriff s Office The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after a six-month investigation into the death of a child. Police arrested Cody Robertson, 25, Wednesday morning in Merrill. He’s facing a charge of child neglect, causing death. The Sheriff’s Office is also looking for Amber Boyd, 22, for a similar warrant. Anyone with information to the whereabouts of Boyd is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 715-536-6272. Callers may also call Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County at 715-536-3726 or use the P3 App. On November 12, 2020, Boyd called 911 saying “my baby isn’t breathing”. According to court documents, police found the child with bruises on the face, head, arms, and legs. Paramedics said it look like there was makeup concealer on the child.
