LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) reported 351 new cases of COVID-19 for January 1st and January 2nd. This brings the community total to 23,005. No new deaths were reported for the county, keeping the community total 153. The county is reporting 7,009 people have recovered from COVID-19. The deceased has been identified as a man in his 60s who was in the hospital.
Additionally, 193 new lab-confirmed cases were reported, bringing the community total to 22,654.
The county is reporting 6,882 people have recovered from COVID-19. While the weekly positivity rate of December 27 – 30 is 33.1%.
As of today, 99 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19 (61 from Lancaster County). A total of six people were on ventilators.
There will not be a January 1 update from LLCHD. The next update will be January 2.
