Members made plans to send delegates to the Illinois Association Home and Community Education annual conference at the Livingston County Home and Communication board meeting Monday, Jan. 11, in Pontiac.
The Illinois Association Home and Community Education annual conference will be held in Effingham March 9-11. Several items made by county HCE members will be entered in the Cultural Arts Show at the conference.
Livingston County HCE will support the conference by placing an add in the conference program book and donating an item for the silent auction.
Scholarship Chairman Shirley Meenen announced that information will be sent to all Livingston County high schools near the first of March on the $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior or a college student from Livingston County.

BRIGHTON, Mich. – Two of five men suspected of robbing a T-Mobile store
in Brighton were arrested after the group
led a pursuit involving seven different police departments to East Lansing, according to authorities.
Five men walked into the T-Mobile store at 8712 West Grand River Avenue in Brighton around 1 p.m. Saturday, police said.
The men forced employees to the back room, where the men gained access to cellphones, iPads and other electronic devices,
No weapons were seen or implied during the robbery, and nobody was injured, police said.

The sheriff s office identified the victim as 26-year-old Rene Dominic Lipumano Ramos.
Sheriff Tony Childress says his office was notified of multiple victims of a shooting at around 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8 in the area of 14th Street and Park in Streator.
The scene was secured after the arrival of authorities, according to the LCSO s press release.
More information surrounding the shooting is anticipated to be released in the days ahead, according to the press release.
Assisting in the investigation are the Illinois State Police Crime Scene, Livingston County Coroner s Office and the Livingston County State s Attorney s Office.

Two suspects are jailed and facing charges after a police chase over the weekend that began with a cell phone story robbery in Brighton and ended in East Lansing.
The Brighton Police Department reports that five men entered the T-Mobile store on West Grand River at about 1pm Saturday. They forced the employees into the back room where they were able to gain access to a large amount of cell phones, iPads and other electronic devices. All five suspects then left the store in a silver Ford Fusion. No weapons were seen or implied and nobody was reported to be injured during the robbery.
