Wright to Continue as UW Engineering Dean Through August 2023 | News

March 3, 2021 Cameron Wright Cameron Wright, who has served as interim dean of the University of Wyoming’s College of Engineering and Applied Science since August 2019, has been named acting dean through August 2023 by the UW Board of Trustees. “Dr. Wright is the right person at the right time to lead the College of Engineering and Applied Science through the pandemic and our current budget headwinds,” Interim Provost Anne Alexander says. “We will restart a dean search in the summer of 2022, but we’re thrilled at his willingness to continue serving at this time.” Wright, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, says he appreciates the confidence and support of the provost, President Ed Seidel and the Board of Trustees.

Louisiana Tech announces 2021 Education during COVID-19 Scholarship recipients

Louisiana Tech University, recently announced the recipients of the Education during COVID-19 Scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year. The Education during COVID-19 Scholarship was designed to give any first-time undergraduate student interested in Louisiana Tech the opportunity to detail their experience with learning during the pandemic. Students could submit an entry in any form of art. The scholarship remained open for six weeks and received over 130 submissions. Winners are: Adeline Moss, of Lake Charles, Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, winning submission with an essay Kathryn Anderson, of Shreveport, Caddo Parish Magnet High School, submission of a painting

Dr Joe Bates graduates — finally! I m just so grateful | Louisiana Tech University

When diplomas are presented during Winter Commencement Saturday, March 6 in Thomas Assembly Center on the Ruston campus, it’s doubtful any member of Louisiana Tech’s Class of 2021 will be happier than Joe Bates. And it’s certain no graduate will have gone as long 60 years between taking their last class at Tech and actually graduating. “This will bring closure to something that has been missing in my life for a long time,” said Bates, who at age 79 is still working fulltime as a telepsychiatrist from his home in Tyler, Texas. “I have come full circle 60 years after leaving Tech. I am just so grateful for this opportunity to lay claim to being a Louisiana Tech Bulldog for life.”
