IDPH reporting 5 new virus deaths in Riverbend

WOOD RIVER Five Riverbend area deaths were among the 123 COVID-19 related deaths cited Friday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
The deaths included a Macoupin County woman in her 90s and four Madison County women, three in their 80s and one in her 90s.
The IDPH also reported 6,642 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases on Friday for a total to date of 1,059,324 cases, including 18,049 deaths.
Late Thursday the Madison County Health Department reported three new COVID-19 related deaths one woman in her 80s and two women in their 90s to take the county’s virus death toll to 399.
"Some weeks we didn't get any vaccine, so this inconsistent delivery, of course, interrupts whatever operational plans we have in getting people vaccinated."
