(Anna Bybee-Schier/Patch) FAIRFIELD, CT A Fairfield traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on assault, battery and burglary charges out of state, according to police. Jovan Domonique Kelly, 25, of Bridgeport, was pulled over about 10:30 a.m. April 21 after his 2007 Chrysler Pacifica ran a stop sign on Brookside Drive, police said. A national criminal database check revealed Kelly had an outstanding warrant from the Lexington County Sheriff s Department in South Carolina, which requested extradition on charges of assault, battery and first-degree burglary, according to police.

ABC Columbia May 1, 2021 2:20 PM EDT COLUMBIA (WOLO): An 18-year-old from Cayce and two minors are accused of kidnapping and shooting a Columbia girl to death last month in a remote part of Lexington County. According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Treveon Nelson and the two minors, a male and a female, whose names will not be released due to their age, are charged with murder, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.   “This is a complex and multilayered investigation,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Over the past few days, we talked a lot with the two minors as we were searching for Nelson. Based on information from those interviews, detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest the teens. Nelson was arrested in this case as soon as we found him Friday evening.”

The body of 15-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep who is the daughter of Brick City Peace Collective member Sharif Malik Amenhotep was located in Lexington County following a three-week search, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said during a press briefing. “I can’t tell you how tragic and sad this case is, to lose a 15-year-old like we lost this one,” Lott said. “Unfortunately we didn’t bring her home the way we wish that we could.”
