Lorain Police: Driver killed after ejected from car in crash

Updated: 12:32 AM EST January 24, 2021 LORAIN, Ohio Police in Lorain are investigating a crash that took the life of a 33-year-old man on Saturday afternoon.  According to reports, a Chevrolet Corvette was going eastbound on State Route 611/Henderson Drive. Once it passed the intersection of 611 and Elyria Avenue, the car failed to negotiate a curve in the road due to excessive speed. The Corvette traveled off of the right side of the road, struck a guard rail, and then struck the wall at the 21st Street Underpass.  At that point, the driver was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest in the road.

After passing the intersection with Elyria Avenue, the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the road due to excessive speed and lost control. Two Lorain teens killed in East 29th Street crash

Lorain police are investigating an early morning traffic crash that took the lives of two teenagers. On Dec. 17 at about 12:27 a.m. Lorain Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to an address in the 2000 block of East 29th Street. An initial investigation determined a 2006 Chevy HHR was traveling westbound on East 29th Street at a high rate of speed. After passing the intersection with Oakwood Avenue, the vehicle lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle came to rest after striking a tree, the release said. - Advertisement - The driver of the Chevy HHR was identified as a 16-year-old male from Lorain. The driver was transported to Mercy Health. He was treated and released.
