(Janene Scully / Noozhawk file photo) By Janene Scully, Noozhawk North County Editor | @JaneneScully May 19, 2021 | 8:44 p.m. Several new businesses, a growing cannabis industry and a few housing projects prompted Lompoc’s mayor to proclaim a positive outlook for the city. “The future is looking brighter for our city as we emerge from the pandemic,” Mayor Jenelle Osborne said Wednesday.  Lompoc’s State of the City presentation was organized by the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce and held virtually. Post-presentation questions, read by chamber leader Amber Wilson, focused on public safety funding, possible annexation of Vandenberg Village and other nearby communities, and other topics.

Additional vendors needed at the Lompoc Outdoor Community Market LOMPOC, Calif - The City of Lompoc Recreation Division is looking for more vendors to participate at the Lompoc Outdoor Community Market. According to the City, produce vendors are needed right now.  The Lompoc Outdoor Community Market had a grand opening last month with more than 1,000 people attending the event. It features local crafts and other handmade items, resale items, food vendors, clothes, kitchenware and more.  The market takes place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. every Saturday in the downtown parking lot, located on the corner of West Ocean Avenue and I Street.

Vaccine Access Expands Across Santa Barbara County  The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department has a growing list of vaccine providers on its website, https://publichealthsbc.org/vaccine/, and you can also search for providers near you on the state s MyTurn website at myturn.ca.gov. In addition to CVS, Walgreens and Walmart, local locations of the Vons, Sav-On (Albertsons), Rite Aid, Ralphs and Costco pharmacy chains have COVID-19 vaccines available.   The large vaccination site at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital has been offering walk-in vaccinations on certain days, and you can check the latest schedule on the website, cottagehealth.org/myvaccine, and the same information in Spanish on this website, cottagehealth.org/mivacuna.
