Ernest Angley was 99. He started with hosting tent revivals in the Akron area before founding Grace Cathedral in 1957. He bought Cuyahoga Falls television station WBNX in 1985 and opened a 5,000-seat venue nearby in 1994, purchased from fellow televangelist Rex Humbard. Grand jury indicts city man in Boardman chase | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN A former city man now locked up in the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center was indicted Thursday on several charges after Boardman police said they chased him Dec. 8 and found a handgun in his vehicle. Marlan B. Everson, 50, was indicted on being a felon in possession of a firearm, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, failure to comply with the orders of a police officer and obstructing official business. Officers made a traffic stop on Brockwood Avenue at Lemans Drive, but Everson took off toward Market Street. The chase took police from Brockwood Avenue to Everson’s home in the 200 block of Potomac Avenue.

Valley seeing uptick at nursing care facilities | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN The number of COVID-19 cases among Mahoning County nursing homes and assisted-living facilities rose again this week, but they also rose among facilities across the state after weeks of dropping. Five Mahoning County nursing homes continue to have at least three combined patient and staff cases, and the total number of cases among Mahoning County facilities rose from 36 last week to 39 this week 14 among patients and 25 among staff. The number of Mahoning County facilities with at least one case also rose from 17 facilities last week to 20 this week, according to Ohio Department of Health data. Trumbull County facilities, however, dropped back down this week.
