A Lakehead University researcher is investigating whether a hot bath really helps wash the stress away.
Nicholas Ravanelli, an assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology at the Thunder Bay, Ont., university, is recruiting subjects for a study to determine if immersing the lower limbs in warm water could help improve symptoms of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Educators, politicians and health-care experts will be airing their concerns this week regarding a plan to make the Northern Ontario School of Medicine a separate entity.
The issue is set to be debated in committee at Queen’s Park on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Among those sharing concerns will be Lakehead University president Moira McPherson; the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association; Ryerson University president Sheldon Levy; the Lakehead University Student Union; former Metrolinx chair and TorStar president Robert Prichard; and Arnold Aberman, dean of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine.
