The MPP for Thunder Bay-Superior North is calling on local leaders to keep the heat on in order to protect the future of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in Thunder Bay.
A provincial bill has been introduced to establish NOSM as an independent, standalone degree-granting institution, raising local concerns on the schools status in the City.
Michael Gravelle says this is a topic that can’t be ignored.
Gravelle stresses there has been no consultation on the proposal.
“Not with the University itself (Lakehead) or Universities. Not with the business community. Not with the Indigenous community. Not with the municipal associations. I think those consultations need to take place before we move forward on a decision such as this.”

Your email dated 23 April 2021, inflamed me. I am angry yet I mostly suffer from a sense of betrayal. It’s the type of betrayal that causes a person to question the integrity of a system and those who have the power within that system.
