Winds were gusting up to 23 mph, according to the weather data at the Walker Municipal Airport. Deputies responded and located the three female kayakers, who were unable to paddle their partially submerged kayaks that had taken on water. One of the girls was in the water for several minutes, the sheriff’s office reported.
