In a COVID-19 update Friday Hill County Public Health Director and Health Officer Kim Berg said only 36 percent of Hill County’s eligible population has been fully vaccinated, down by one percent since the last update two weeks ago. Berg said because the Pfizer vaccine recently obtained approval for use in people 12 years and older, the eligible population of the county has jumped from about 12,000 to 13,256. This has resulted in the percentage of vaccinated people eligible in the county falling a percentage point.

The Havre Education Association hosted a Havre Public School Board candidate forum Thursday in Hensler Auditorium on the Montana State University-Northern campus. The forum was moderated by Chairman of the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Kyle Leeds. There were nine questions from the HEA and public questions as well as follow-up questions were allowed.

Hill County COVID vaccinations continuing

Vaccinations continue in Hill County after a small spike in COVID-19 cases, and Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson said during a Hill County Board of Health meeting Friday that the board hold a special meeting in the Hill County Courthouse Annex at noon today to discuss the mask mandate. In the COVID-19 update, Friday Hill County Public Health Director and Health Officer Kim Larson said, as of 10 a.m. that day, the county only had 11 active cases of COVID-19, which was very exciting for the department. She said the week of March 1 to March 7 the county saw 19.93 new cases per day per.
