RICHMOND, Va. Nearly 20 additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA).
The VHHA reports a total of 56,782 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 56,765 (+20) patients since Wednesday s update.
Hospitalizations have increased in Virginia over the last 24 hours.
There are currently 498 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, up from 476 (+22) Wednesday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 369 (-1) of those patients have COVID-19 while 129 (+23) have tests pendi

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 675,783 total cases, 525,896 of which are confirmed and 149,887 are probable. There are 11,206 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 9,457 being confirmed and 1,749 being probable. The case numbers are up by 186, and deaths are up by 12 since Tuesday.
A total of 7,442,971 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
As of Wednesday
Virginia has given a total of 8,230,004 COVID-19 vaccines. That is 24,158 statewide doses given in a day. The table below gives more information about local vaccine distribution.
