There are 10,529 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 8,836 being confirmed and 1,693 being probable. The case numbers are up by 1,415, and deaths are up by 19 since Wednesday. A total of 6,765,207 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia. As of Thursday Virginia has given a total of 4,974,166 COVID-19 vaccines. That is 69,878 statewide doses given in a day. Nearly 80 additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). The VHHA reports a total of 52,886 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 52,808 (+78) patients since Wednesday s update. Hospitalizations have decreased in Virginia over the last 24 hours. There are currently 1,052 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, down from 1,060 (-8) Wednesday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 906 (-20) of those patients have COVID-19 while 146 (+12) have tests pending.
