The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 504,779 total cases, 404,469 of which are confirmed and 100,310 are probable. There are 6,464 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 5,657 being confirmed and 807 being probable. The case numbers are up by 2,558, and deaths are up by 15 since Saturday.
The VDH said surveillance system upgrades that took place Saturday, January 30 affected the data on the COVID-19 Cases & Testing Dashboards on January 31 and February 1. A decrease in the number of cases and tests reported on January 31 and an increase in the number of cases and tests reported on February 1 is anticipated because of these upgrades.

According to their website, there are now 502,221 total cases, 402,532 of which are confirmed and 99,689 are probable. There are 6,449 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 5,646 being confirmed and 803 being probable. The case numbers are up by 4,309, and deaths are up by 70 since Friday.
A total of 5,210,235 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
As of Saturday Virginia has given a total of 758,477 COVID-19 vaccines. The table below gives more information about local vaccine distribution.
350 additional COVID-19 patients discharged in Virginia; hospitalizations tick down

RICHMOND, Va. Three hundred fifty additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA).
The VHHA reports a total of 38,947 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 38,597 (+350) patients since Thursday s update.
Hospitalizations have decreased in Virginia over the last 24 hours.
There are currently 2,691 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, down from 2,706 (-15) Thursday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 2,426 39 (-13) of those patients have COVID-19 while 265 (-2) have tests pending.
