LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal welcomed the new investment plans of a Chinese company in the tile industry and reiterated that the promotion of investment is the top priority of the government.
The minister in a meeting with a representative of the Chinese company Oreal Ceramics Wo Jianbin who called on him at the PBIT office on Tuesday and discussed matters relating to investment promotion in the province.
The Chinese company has shown interest in investing in the tile industry in Bhalwal Industrial Estate and production capacity can be increased if the additional supply of electricity and gas is provided. The company also demanded to provide 50-acre land for setting up a new industrial unit.

Lahore, Jan. 6 (Gwadar Pro) - Chinese Company Oreal Ceramics has shown interest in investing in the tiles industry in Bhalwal Industrial Estate and has sought 50-acre land to set up a new industrial unit, said an official statement issued here on Tuesday evening.
The investment can increase the production capacity if additional supply of electricity and gas is provided, said the statement.
Representative of Chinese Company Oreal Ceramics Wo Jianbin called on Punjab Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal and discussed matters relating to investment. Director Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Suhail Saleem was also present.
Body to finalise PSDA rules

LAHORE: The Punjab government Wednesday directed to hold a fresh review of proposed administrative infrastructure of Punjab Skills Development Authority and constituted a committee to finalise the rules.
The decision was made in the Board of Directors meeting of Punjab Skills Development Authority presided over by Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal at its office. The board approved online registration of technical education institutions.
The minister directed to hold a fresh review of proposed administrative infrastructure of Punjab Skills Development Authority (PSDA) and the meeting constituted a committee under Malik Nadeem Kamran, MPA to finalise the rules.

LAHORE: Commerce Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood has announced that duty on the import of raw materials for industries is being reduced by six per cent from Jan 1, 2021.
“The reduction of import duty on raw materials will benefit the industry. I am the representative of industrialists in Islamabad and will help resolve all their genuine problems,” Dawood said while speaking to industrialists of Punjab in a meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Saturday.

LAHORE: The government has decided to reduce import duty by 6 per cent on import of raw material from January 1st. The reduction of import duty on raw material will benefit industry.
