Updated: 10:47 AM EST Jan 30, 2021 A person is dead after a fire destroyed a two-family home in Blackstone, according to Massachusetts fire officials.The Office of the State Fire Marshal says that the two-alarm fire at 16 Auclair St. was first reported at approximately 2:20 a.m. Saturday.Video from the scene shows that the house was completely engulfed in flames.State fire officials say the victim is an adult but did not identify them.The Red Cross of Massachusetts is assisting two adults who were able to escape the fire, but have been displaced.Photos from the scene show that the roof of the two-family home collapsed. The fire also damaged the side of a neighboring home.The cause of the fire is being investigated by Blackstone firefighters, Blackstone police and Massachusetts State Police investigators assigned to both the State Fire Marshal s Office and the Worcester County District Attorney s Office.
55-year-old Wendy Hibbard, struck, killed by car in Oxford as she attempted to cross Main Street

Authorities identified the woman as Wendy Hibbard of Oxford.
Oxford police responded to a crash at Main Street and Fairlawn Avenue at around 7:15 p.m., authorities said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Hibbard appeared to be crossing Main Street when she was hit by a car.
No charges have been filed, authorities said. The name of the driver was not released.
The crash remains under investigation by Oxford Police, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council reconstruction team and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.

WESTBOROUGH, MA A Westborough Police Sergeant was honored on Tuesday by the Worcester County District Attorney s Office for his role in a domestic violence call last November that ended with the victim being safe but the suspect dead.
Sgt. Jon Kalagher was called to a Windsor Ridge Drive apartment in November 2019 for a domestic violence incident. A man in the apartment had repeatedly stabbed his wife, but the woman was able to run to a neighbor s apartment to call police. The man followed her to that apartment, according to the DA s office, and then outside as he continued to attack her.
