A grand international fleet review was held in the North Arabian Sea on the culminating day. With dozens of warships representing wide ranging countries and stationed in a massive formation natively called, “AMAN formation, the imposing finale was witnessed by President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi. He was joined by the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Minister for Defence Production, Chief Minister Sindh, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of the Army staff and the Chief of the Air staff. This was besides Emissaries of various countries in Pakistan. The traditional AMAN formation denotes, “unity and collective resolve”.

SLNS Gajabahu takes part in AMAN-2021 exercise in Pakistan

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): Representing Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Gajabahu took part in the 7th edition of AMAN series hosted by Pakistan this year, Sri Lanka Navy said. The multi-national maritime exercise AMAN-2021 hosted by Pakistan Navy under the theme ‘Together for Peace’ formally commenced at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi, Pakistan on 12th February 2021. Having seen the customary farewell at the home port on 05th February 2021, SLNS Gajabahu left Colombo for Karachi in Pakistan, to attend AMAN-2021. AMAN-2021 was held from 12th to 16th February 2021, with the participation of as many as 45 countries from across the world.

Delhi s hegemonic designs nuclearise Indian Ocean: FM

Top Story February 16, 2021 KARACHI: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Monday said in pursuance of its hegemonic designs, India had nuclearised the Indian Ocean and continued to induct advanced weapon systems and naval delivery platforms. He said this while addressing the International Maritime Conference titled “Development of Blue Economy under a Secure and Sustainable Environment”. Qureshi said Pakistan will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure its security and to maintain credible minimum deterrence. He said the Indian Ocean was the world s third-largest water body and while retaining its significance for the global security, it represented an increasingly important avenue for global trade.
