Cohiba brand celebrates its 55
th birthday this year and Habanos is marking the occasion with a series of new releases. The first were announced during the
Habanos World Days event last week, but the company promised there is more to come – including some news for travel retail and duty free.
“Our most prestigious and acknowledged brand in the world of premium cigars today marks 55 years of history,”
Habanos Vice-President in Charge of Commerce Leopoldo Cintra González said as he addressed a special virtual launch event. “Cohiba is synonymous with tobacco.”

World leaders congratulate Costa Rica for decarbonization plan
San Jose, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) World leaders on Wednesday congratulated Costa Rica on the 2nd anniversary of the National Decarbonization Plan (PND), with which this country seeks to achieve zero emissions by 2050.
According to the messages released by the Presidential House, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the Spanish President Pedro Sánchez and leaders of international organizations agreed that Costa Rica proved leadership to fight climate change and gave example of how to do it.
¨I congratulate Costa Rica on its updated nationally determined contribution, which enshrines its even greater commitment to reaching zero emissions by 2050, and increasing climate ambition by ensuring that to build low-emission and climate-resilient buildings by 2030,¨ Guterres said.
