Waihi Beach Library and Service Centre will shut its doors for four days next week to receive a fresh coat of paint.
The library and service centre, located in the Waihi Beach Community Centre, will be closed to the public from Thursday, May 6 to Monday, May 10.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council customer service and governance manager, Barbara Whitton said the council had being working closely with the community centre, who the council leased the space from, to find a suitable time to give the area a fresh coat of paint.

Council’s Kerbside Services Project Manager, Ken Buckley says households will receive one of two bins sets depending on where they live in the District and how that correlates to the new service.
A full kerbside waste and recycling service will be provided to those located within the ‘Urban’ zone and includes a 140L rubbish bin, 240L recycling bin, 45L glass crate and 23L lockable food scraps bin.

A new chief executive officer has been announced for Western Bay of Plenty District Council.
John Holyoake will take the role of retiring chief executive officer Miriam Taris, appointed to the role in 2014.
Holyoake is currently chief executive of the Tamaki Regeneration Company - the largest urban regeneration project in New Zealand, a role he has held since 2015.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council has today released its draft concept plan for the three-hectare site at 83 Ford Rd, near Maketū.
The council s reserves and facilities manager Peter Watson said the council believed now was the perfect time to develop the site to benefit the community and further enhance the lower Kaituna River area. This is a strategic piece of land in a great location which can be used by everyone - local residents, including tangata whenua, water based groups and clubs and cyclists using the Tauranga Eastern Link Cycleway.
