North Bay Jail temporarily closed in wake of COVID-19 outbreak

Article content The North Bay Jail will remain closed for two weeks effective Wednesday due to an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak that has seen 33 people so far test positive for the coronavirus. “In consultation with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, and to ensure the safety and well-being of both correctional services staff and those in provincial custody, the ministry has decided to temporarily close the North Bay Jail for a minimum of 14 days,” said Andrew Morrison, a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Solicitor General, in a statement to The Nugget.
