Alvin Campbell Jr is the brother of Boston City council member Andrea Campbell. He was raised in a Black Christian family in Roxbury, often called the heart of Boston’s Black community, and the South End, along with Andrea and her twin brother Andre. A former Transit police officer was indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury last week in connection to an incident last April when authorities say he pinned a Black man face down on the ground with his knee and filed a report that was contradicted by video.
Nicholas Morrissey, 41, was indicted on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, violating the victim’s civil rights and filing a false report, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said. He is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on March 5.
