Borough police detained the 17-year-old boy May 6 after police say they saw him riding the dirt bike on High Street. Police recovered a Kawasaki KX250 after the arrest and they suspect the bike was stolen, according to Deputy Police Chief C. Colin McAllister. The teen was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license and insurance, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance while younger than 18 and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Contributed/Waterbury Police Department WATERBURY Police arrested a 21-year-old felon after finding him in a stolen Mercedes-Benz at a Mobil gas station Monday night. Officers spotted the stolen vehicle at 385 Watertown Ave. at about 8:20 p.m. and determined it had been reported stolen from the area earlier in the day, police said. As the driver, Alexander Pagan, saw a police cruiser approach, he put his vehicle in reverse, hitting another police cruiser behind him, according to police.

Suspected Wolcott convenience store robber charged

Contributed/Wolcott Police Department WOLCOTT Police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man suspected of robbing the Cumberland Farms convenience store at 723 Wolcott Road last month. Police believe Adrian Alaya-Garo of Meriden entered the store at about 8 p.m. on March 7, put money on the counter and requested gas. When the cashier opened the cash drawer, police say Alaya-Garo jumped over the counter, pushed the clerk out of the way and grabbed the insert of the cash drawer. Alaya-Garot fled in a vehicle, police said. Officer Paul Scarcella transmitted a description of the vehicle to other officers, including Meriden Police Department, where police traced its registration.
