WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) An activist and member of Waterbury’s Human Rights Commission was arrested after his middle-school-aged son allegedly showed a gun on social media and threatened to beat up another student.
Fahd Syed, 41, was charged last week with risk of injury and failure to properly store a loaded firearm in regard to a minor, the Republican American reported Tuesday.
Police said Syed’s son appeared with a handgun on a video posted to social media in February as part of a dispute he was having with the other student over shoveling snow for money. The son threatened to beat up the other boy but did not make a threat to use the weapon, police said.
