April 16, 2021 401 NAUGATUCK For the second time in two years, police executed a search warrant at a New Haven Road massage parlor as part of a prostitution investigation. Police executed a warrant Monday at Maple Massage at 1177 New Haven Road and arrested Xiaopei Zhang, 46, and Jianwei Lu, both of New York. Police said the search was the result of a “lengthy” prostitution investigation. Police charged Zhang with prostitution, second-degree promoting prostitution, permitting prostitution and conspiracy to commit prostitution. Lu was charged with permitting prostitution and second-degree promoting prostitution. They were both released on a $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 2.

(AP) An activist and member of Waterbury’s Human Rights Commission was arrested after his middle-school-aged son allegedly showed a gun on social media and threatened to beat up another student. Fahd Syed, 41, was charged last week with risk of injury and failure to properly store a loaded firearm in regard to a minor, the Republican American reported Tuesday. Police said Syed’s son appeared with a handgun on a video posted to social media in February as part of a dispute he was having with the other student over shoveling snow for money. The son threatened to beat up the other boy but did not make a threat to use the weapon, police said.

CT State Police Detectives found 4 adults and 2 juveniles inside the residence. As a result of the search, several firearms were seized and an illegal marijuana grow operation was also discovered. In addition, various narcotics, including cocaine and heroin were also discovered. The press release states that all of the firearms were found to be in the juvenile s bedroom. Both have been charged with multiple felonies. Matos is being held on a $500,000 bond and Regan is being held on a $200,000 bond.
