Two toddlers were found living in “horrible conditions” in a Warren County hotel with their parents, who were allegedly using a slew of hard drugs in their presence with at least eight other adults, authorities said.
Officers in Mansfield Township conducted a welfare check at the Quality Inn in Hackettstown around 3 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of 10 adults smoking crack cocaine in front of two small children the night before, police said.

The Phillipsburg Police Department, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety are investigating in search of a cause of a fire Monday evening that left attached apartment houses unlivable at 784-786 S. Main St., according to the town fire chief.
There was no immediate estimate of the cost of damage, Chief Rich Hay said in a news release. Both buildings are insured, Hay said, but he wasn’t certain if the tenants had renters policies.
A town firefighter was treated for a minor injury at St. Luke’s Hospital in town after 60 firefighters from five of the six town fire companies responded to the blaze about 7:20 p.m., Hay said. No residents were hurt, he added.
