An Akron man was indicted by the Washington County Grand Jury this week on charges of aggravated possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
Javon L. Wilson, 30, of 215 E. Spring Court, was arrested after a traffic stop Oct. 7 on Interstate 77 near milepost 13 in Aurelius Township.
Washington County Assistant Prosecutor James Schneider said Wilson was following another vehicle too close, went to pass them without using a turn signal, and then drove back in front of the other vehicle, causing them to hit their brakes.
He was pulled over and law enforcement learned there was a warrant from Summit County for domestic violence.

¯ The rape charge is a first-degree felony, and the other eight are all third-degree felonies.

Former Marietta Middle School coach Crystal Burke was indicted this week by the Washington County Grand Jury on one count of rape and eight counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Burke, 41, of 6625 State Route 60, Lowell, was initially arrested on six counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, all third-degree felonies.

¯ First-degree felony: Three to 11 years, $20,000.
¯ Second-degree felony: Two to eight years, $15,000.
¯ Third-degree felony: One to three years, $10,000.
¯ Third-degree felony involving an act of sex or violence: One to five years, $10,000.
¯ Fourth-degree felony: Six to 18 months, $5,000.
¯ Fifth-degree felony: Six months to one year, $2,500.

Twenty defendants were indicted this week by the Washington County Grand Jury on some 32 counts.
Brennan M. Holshu, 33, of 752 Covey Court, Belpre, was indicted on one count of first-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs. He was arrested after reportedly being found in the 700 block of Second Street, Marietta, in October 2019 with more than five times the bulk amount for methamphetamine.
