50-year-old Illinois woman dies after sledding at Camp Awana while visiting family

The Washington County Sheriff s Office said it happened just before 4 p.m.  The woman veered off course down the sledding hill and crashed into a brush area and several trees, officials say. The woman was ejected from the inner tube and was laying unresponsive on the ground at the bottom of the hill, according to WCSO.  The woman was transported to Froedtert Milwaukee by Flight For Life and around 9:30 p.m. she died due to her injuries.  The woman was from Arlington Heights, Illinois and was in Washington County visiting family.  Her name has not been released.  Share this article:

Washington County: 48-year-old man dies in duplex trailer fire

BARTON, Wisc. (CBS 58) - A 48-year-old man died after a duplex trailer fire Saturday, Jan. 23. Washington County Sheriff s Office said it happened just before 6 p.m. in the 7000 block of Lenwood Drive in Barton. Officials responded to a report of a duplex trailer fire after a neighboring tenant saw smoke and fire from a nearby unit. According to WCSO, the neighbor tried to notify the tenant, but could not get a response at the locked door. Fire personnel found a 48-year-old Barton man, who occupied the unit, unresponsive in the living area while trying to put out the fire. Officials say the man was immediately carried out to an awaiting ambulance. He was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics.

Knowlton pleads guilty to felony assault | News, Sports, Jobs

mnewbanks@mariettatimes.com A man who beat his father with a metal baseball bat last January pleaded guilty to felonious assault Thursday at the Washington County Courthouse. Jerran Keith Knowlton, 41, of 6658 Archers Fork Road, New Matamoras, was indicted in February 2020 for attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault. According to reports from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a 911 call in January 2020 on a domestic complaint at Knowlton’s home. It was reported that Richard Knowlton, Jerran’s father, was bleeding from his head after being beaten by his son. A second call was reported by dispatch about Knowlton being in an altercation with his father. During the call, a man who was identified as Jerran Knowlton, stated he hit his father in the head with a bat. He also reportedly said during the call that “it happened so fast. I grabbed a bat out of my room and started whaling on him in the chair.”
