Victorian Arcare worker linked to South Australian hotel COVID-19 outbreak 01/06/2021|8min
Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley says an aged care worker who tested positive for COVID-19 has been linked to the South Australian hotel outbreak through genomic sequencing - while the state recorded nine local cases in the past 24 hours.
There were two workers at the Arcare Maidstone aged care home who were confirmed positive on Monday, but Mr Foley said the genomic sequencing indicated “this is all the one related cluster from the South Australian hotel breach”.
“I m also able to advise that all staff and residents at Blue Cross Sunshine aged care facility have tested negative other than that one case we reported on yesterday, that was the crossover worker between Arcare Maidstone and Blue Cross Sunshine.
