Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley has revealed one of the four COVID-19 cases recently recorded is a pre-school aged child.
Earlier on Monday, health authorities announced two likely cases of COVID-19 had been detected, but later in the day it was confirmed two further local cases were recorded.
All four cases come from the same family, but are spread across two households, and it was confirmed one of the new cases is a child.
“(The child) is quite young, pre-school,” Mr Foley told the media during a press conference.
He said Victorians should be regularly checking health updates and the list of exposure sites.

Despite four new community cases of Covid-19 in Melbourne, New Zealand will not be suspending flights to the Victorian capital, the Ministry of Health has announced. However, testing and isolation will be required for those who have been in any of the locations of interest in Melbourne - including those who have travelled back to New Zealand in recent days. The confirmation of new Covid-19 cases in Melbourne has sent thousands of people in Australia into isolation for two weeks as authorities concede there may be a missing link between the new outbreak and a positive case in the city a fortnight ago.
