DHAKA, Feb 20, 2021 (BSS) – Tributes and condolences continue to pour in for Ekushey Padak -2015 winner, eminent actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, who passed away at the age of 80, at his residence at city’s Sutrapur area early this morning.
Immediately after his demise, people from all walks of life as well as different political parties and leaders expressed their shock and sent condolences.
A number of cabinet members also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the National Film Award winner actor.

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2021 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haq today said the government has a plan to form a commission to identify and put on trial those who were linked nationally and internationally with the killing of Bangabandhu.
“To identify and holding trial of the perpetrators who were nationally and internationally linked with Bangabandhu’s killing is an ethical demand of the nation …we won’t hesitate to perform that moral responsibility,” he said while addressing as the chief guest a discussion marking 80th birth anniversary of noted nuclear scientist Dr M A Wazed Mia at the National Press Club here.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked all concerned to present the authentic history of the Liberation War before the new generation. History can t be erased. The authentic history of the Liberation War will have to be projected before the new generation, she said while addressing the 66th trustee board meeting of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust (FFWT) from her official residence Gono Bhaban.

Sheikh Hasina asked authorities concerned to preserve graveyards of freedom fighters and build memorial museums, so generation after generation can know the accurate history of the Liberation War.
She asked the trustee board members to identify insolvent freedom fighters and their family members and stand by them.
The PM said her government will build homes for all insolvent freedom fighters and their families.
The Prime Minister asked all concerned to speed up activities of the trustee board and stressed the need for holding regular meetings. She said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had formed the trust for the welfare of the country s best sons.
