Liberation War Affairsâ Minister receives 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine

DHAKA, Apr 19, 2021 (BSS)âLiberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the Secretariat Clinic around 12noon today.
âAfter receiving the vaccine, the minister felt good and no side effects were immediately known to report after the vaccination,â according to an official release here.
Earlier, AKM Mozammel Haque was vaccinated on February 17 for the first time.
Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Ilias Chowdhury was present during the vaccination period.

Hefazat wonât be spared in any way: Mozammel

DHAKA, April 16, 2021 (BSS) â Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said today that Hefazat-e-Islam will not be spared in any way for carrying out violence on March 27-27.
âThey have hurt the spirit of the Liberation War by taking stand against the state, therefore, fair trials would be ensured,â he said.
The minister made the remarks after paying homage to the portrait of the Father of the Nation at Dhanmondi No. 32 on the occasion of historic Mujibnagar Day.
Hefazat-e-Islam carried out the violence from March 26 to March 27 in imitation of what the Pakistanis did in 1971. Hefazat will have to face trial legally; they will not be exempted from this in any way, he said.

Police yesterday arrested two top leaders of Hefajat-e-Islam from the capital along seven supporters of the Islamist group from Brahmanbaria.
The two leaders are Dhaka City unit President Maulana Zunayed Al Habib and an Assistant Secretary General Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed
Maulana Zunayed is also the joint secretary general of Hefajat, a Qawmi madrasa-based Islamist organisation.
Law enforcers said that the two were arrested in connection with cases filed following the 2013 mayhem and the one in late March this year.
Programmes taken to observe ‘Mujibnagar Day’ amid pandemic

DHAKA, April 16, 2021 (BSS) – Several programmes have been taken to observe the historic Mujibnagar Day tomorrow in compliance with the health rules in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are expected to issue separate messages on the eve of the day recalling the historic event.
The day will begin with the hoisting of the national flag at sunrise at Liberation War Memorial Centre (Muktijuddho Srity Kendro) at Mujibnagar in Meherpur district.
Later, wreaths will be laid at 9:30 am at the Liberation War Memorial Center in Mujibnagar abiding by the health rules.
