The Liberation War affairs minister is also confident that the work to compile a revised and complete list of Razakars, or wartime collaborators of the Pakistani forces, amidst the celebrations of 50 years of independence will be finished before the Victory Day on Dec 16.
“It will take time to settle the appeals by those who felt aggrieved or that they were being denied justice after their names had been dropped during the verification process. Their names will be added if they are proved to be real freedom fighters,” he said at an event in Dhaka on Sunday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said the historic 7th March speech was apparently the actual declaration of independence as Bangabandhu uttered twice with utmost assertion that this time the struggle is for our freedom and this time the struggle is for our independence.

Speaking at a discussion marking 50 years of the historic speech on Sunday, the prime minister noted that the Father of the Nation depicted in the address decades of exploitation of the Bengali, and the situation at the time when killings and torture by the Pakistani junta were ongoing.
“And the most important thing is that he gave all the instructions to prepare for a war. He told us what to do in guerrilla warfare – from forming Sangram Parishad to facing the enemy with whatever we had.”
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said yesterday that a list of freedom fighters that is not "debatable" will be released on Independence Day on March 26, when the country will start celebrations of its golden jubilee of independence. He also hoped the "revised" list of Razakars will be released before Victory Day this year.
