Govt takes elaborate programme for historic March 7

DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – The government has drawn up elaborate programme to observe the historic March 7 national day tomorrow in a befitting manner with maintaining health guidelines.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid today announced programme marking the day at a press conference at Jatiya Natyashala seminar room of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy here.
The programme includes hoisting of national flag in the dawn, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the premises of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi road number 32.
A function will be arranged at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) at 3pm.

DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said the historic 7 March Speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had inspired the nation to wage Liberation War for making Bangladesh independent one.
“After the historic speech of Bangabandhu on March 7 in 1971, the freedom-loving Bangalees started taking preparations for building resistance across the country while the first resistance war started against the Pakistani occupation forces at Joydebpur on March 19,” he said.
The minister made the remarks while he was addressing a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club (JPS) here, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Historic 7 March Speech Day, said a press release.
Revoking Zia’s title: Steps to be taken after investigation
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque has said that no decision has yet been taken to revoke Ziaur Rahman’s gallantry title only a recommendation placed in this regard.
“No decision has yet been taken to revoke Ziaur Rahman’s gallantry title Bir Uttam, only a recommendation placed. Steps will be taken after getting the probe report,” said the minister at a discussion held at Jatiya Press Club on Saturday.
Mentioning that confusion has been created over the issue, the minister said,”On the day of the meeting, a recommendation was placed to revoke the titles of the self-proclaimed killers of Bangabandhu who were convicted by the court. Then a discussion was held that Ziaur Rahman had connection with Bangabandhu’s killers.
