Lunch was served outside the former Kmart, 1321 Sandy Hollow Road, to folks who were vaccinated at the site on Saturday.
The event, billed as “Food, Music, Shots,” was coordinated by the Winnebago County Health Department and the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The first 300 people to be vaccinated received a $5 food voucher redeemable at either of the two food trucks on hand.
Live music and children’s games also were part of the festivities.
Eric Richter of Rockford and his friend Alex Iversen both received their second Pfizer doses inside the former department store building and then enjoyed steak tacos from the Olivo Taco food truck in the parking lot.
