TORONTO The Toronto Argonauts significantly upgraded their defensive line on Thursday, signing CFL veterans Charleston Hughes and Cordarro Law.
The 37-year-old Hughes was released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Wednesday when the two sides couldn t come to terms on a deal ahead of the start of free agency next week. He signed a two-year deal with Toronto.
Hughes has led the league in sacks each of the past four seasons.

Blue Bombers re-sign receiver Lawler
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed their Most Outstanding Rookie nominee from the 2019 season, receiver Kenny Lawler.

WINNIPEG The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American receiver Kenny Lawler to a one-year extension.
Lawler was named the Bombers top rookie in 2019 after leading the club with 637 receiving yards on 41 receptions. He also scored four touchdowns.
Lawler added eight receptions for 126 yards in three playoff games as the Bombers won the Grey Cup.
B.C. cut Lawler in training camp in 2018, opening the door for Winnipeg to sign the California Golden Bears product to their practice roster.
