Our good friend John Parker from WarbirdsOnline in Australia recently paid a visit to the restoration workshops at the Aviation Heritage Center within RAAF Base Amberly near Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. One of the projects underway there is the decade-long effort to restore Avro Anson Mk.I W2472. As Parker relates.

Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre s Lancaster bomber - known as Just Jane - is three years into a 10-year restoration project to get it airborne.
This year, the rear fuselage has been stripped down, and its parts laid out in the hangar.

The week-long observance is normally held nightly around the new year by the many Hmong families that trace their origins back to Laos.
