VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN): The government has given the green light to Jia Run Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. to carry out a feasibility study for an ecological agriculture development project in Sanamxay district, Attapeu province.
An agreement with regard to the project was signed on Wednesday (April 7) by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Khamchan Vongsaenboun and company President, Xiafei.
Speaking at the ceremony, XieFei said the company planned to operate the project on area of 5,000ha, as a cooperation in modern agriculture.
Jia Run Agricultural Development Co, Ltd. will fund and operate the project. the feasibility study will complete within six months.

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN): Luang Prabang Jiangge Cement Sole Co, Ltd. is now providing high quality cement, mainly in the northern provinces, with an output of 2,000 tonnes per day while providing jobs for local people.
Wen Yaosheng is the General Manager of Luang Prabang Jiangge Cement Sole Co., Ltd, which is located in Luang Prabang province.
The Luang Prabang Jiangge cement plant and another cement plant located in Oudomxay province are owned by Jiangge, a subsidiary of China’s Xiamen Yongfugui Group.
These two plants are the key projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, producing and supplying cement products under the “Sam Xang” brand.

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN): The construction of roads and railways connecting production zones to the Laos-China economic corridor is essential if Laos wishes to significantly benefit from regional integration.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and Investment, Dr Sonexay Siphandone, told the National Assembly recently that the government is concentrating on building a railway and an expressway as part of the Laos-China economic corridor.
“Basically, we are focusing on railway development, especially the construction of four major rail stations that will become the hubs of new modern towns. These towns will be connected to industrial parks and agricultural production zones in 10 provinces through the improvement of roads, ” the Deputy PM said.
