New Delhi: Since November 2020, farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are protesting at the Delhi borders against the three farm laws that were passed by the Central government. Their main demand is for them to be repealed. To take their movement further, a tractor rally will take place on Republic Day around the national capital.
Ahead of the rally, a video has gone viral where a farmer drove to Delhi from Punjab on a tractor in reverse gear. It was posted on Twitter by a page called TractorToTwitter that is an account standing in solidarity with the farmers cause.

Farmers from Punjab and Haryana will set out today to participate in proposed tractor parade on January 26 in Delhi. Farmers unions protesting the Centre s three farm laws had said they would go ahead with their tractor parade in Delhi on the Republic Day. They had announced to take out the tractor parade on the Outer Ring Road in Delhi.

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took out motorcycle rallies in several parts of the state on Saturday to mobilise people for ‘Kisan Tractor Parade’ announced by farmers in Delhi against the centre’s agriculture black laws, on January 26.
AAP’s state president and MP Bhagwant Mann said that the party workers have taken out motorcycle rallies across the state to mobilise people for the ‘Kisan Tractor Parade’ in the national capital on Republic Day. All the party MLAs organised motorcycle rallies with supporters and volunteers in their respective constituencies.

New Delhi: The second round of meeting between the police and farmer unions regarding the proposed January 26 tractor rally remained inconclusive on Thursday. Farmers stuck to their demand of taking out the rally on Delhi’s Outer Ring Road.

New Delhi: The government is reported to have denied permission to the protesting farmers to hold a tractor rally even on Delhi’s Outer Ring Road on January 26, on the occasion of Republic Day. The farmers, in response, have said that they will hold the rally on the key road come what may.
A farmer leader on Thursday said that they will continue to have meeting amongst themselves, with the police and the government on the matter.
