Mumbai: Social activist Anna Hazare on Friday said he won t be proceeding with the indefinite fast against the new farm laws and claimed that the Central government has agreed to some of his demands. The union government has agreed to some of my demands and also announced setting up a committee to improve the lives of farmers. I have decided to suspend my proposed indefinite fast starting from Saturday, he said on Friday.

Farmers unions have cancelled their planned march to Parliament on February 1, the Budget Day as cracks began to appear in the ongoing agitation against the agri laws after the violence during the tractor parade on Republic Day.

A day after the
farmers tractor parade spiralled into chaos in parts of the national capital, paramilitary forces were deployed at Tikri border one of the sites where the protesters have been camping for over two months now.
The barricades were back in place and the area was peaceful. The farmers were seen back in their makeshift tents and arrangements, stretching several kilometres from Tikri border towards Haryana. Some farmer groups from Chhattisgarh joined the protest against the three contentious farm laws at Tikri.
While vehicular movement along the Delhi-Rohtak road was normal, commuters complained of hassles in crossing the border.
