Farmers Protest Highlights: After unprecedented scenes of chaos and violence in Delhi during the tractor march by farmers on Republic Day, security was tightened around Red Fort, borders in Tikri and Singhu on January 27. The Delhi Police has registered 22 FIRs so far in connection with the violence that broke out during the farmers tractor parade in the national capital leaving over 300 police personnel injured. Farmers Protest Highlights: The Delhi Police December 27 detained around 200 protesters on charges of rioting, damaging public property and attacking police personnel during the Republic Day violence in the capital. The Police said they are making arrests after registering 22 FIRs in the case, so far. The Police have also registered an FIR mentioning the names of nine farm leaders, including Yogendra
Addressing a press conference, Delhi police commissioner S N Srivastava said farmer unions did not follow conditions set for the tractor rally that was supposed to be held from 12 noon to 5 PM and accused them of betrayal.

23:51 PM IST: The NBA on Wednesday sought action against persons responsible for attacks on journalists during the Republic Day violence in Delhi. The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) strongly condemns the deplorable attack on media persons and breaking of their equipment, during the coverage of the tractor rally taken out yesterday by farmers in Delhi in protest against the new farm laws, a statement by NBA said.
The statement added, NBA demands that persons or hooligans responsible for the attack on the journalists and camerapersons must be identified and booked under law because these elements were obstructing media persons from performing their professional duties and were trampling upon their rights as enshrined in the Constitution.
