COLEMAN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Masking will no longer be a requirement at some Northeast Wisconsin schools.
This comes after the Wisconsin Supreme Court voted to overturn the statewide mandate.
The Coleman school board voted to repeal the district’s mask mandate recently.
The district said in a statement,
“
Consistent with the School District of Coleman’s Reopening Plan adopted in August 2020, the Board of Education, not the administration, had the sole authority to repeal the mask requirement. The Board exercised that authority on Monday, April 19, with a 5-2 vote. The District will continue to perform rigorous contact tracing, monitor the health and symptoms of our students, staff, parents, and the community for COVID-19, and take the appropriate follow-up actions to ensure the safety of our Coleman School District community.”

Surveying American groundwater for strontium
Strontium is a soft metal that originates from minerals such as celestine. While low concentrations of naturally occurring strontium are safe and even beneficial for health, high amounts can stunt bone growth in children with low levels of calcium in their bodies. This is because strontium can replace calcium in the bones, which can weaken them and limit development, according to Sarah Yang, a groundwater toxicologist for the

Gov. Evers vetoes Republican bill banning vaccine requirement
By AP author
MADISON, Wis. - Gov. Tony Evers on Friday, April 23 vetoed Republican-backed bills that would have prevented health officials from mandating the COVID-19 vaccine and allowed churches to be closed during the pandemic.
Evers said in his veto messages that he objected to the bills because they limited his ability to respond to the pandemic.
The action has little immediate effect. There is no state order limiting how many people can gather in churches or any indoor venue, although there are some limited local ordinances. There are also no mandates in place from state or local health officials requiring vaccines for the general population.
