MADISON, Wis. - The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin rose by 805 Tuesday, April 20, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported, for a total of 591,636. Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported eight new deaths Tuesday, with a total of 6,718 deaths in the state. Of the positive cases, 28,694 have required hospitalization (4.8%), while 575,702 have recovered (97.3%), making for 8,972 active cases (1.5%).

Wisconsin s Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas counties logged an additional 22 cases for the Northland. Most of those cases are in Douglas County. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported eight new deaths from COVID-19 in the state. One of those people lived in Douglas County. The county has now lost 33 people to the illness.
