COUNTY COVID 2-WEEK AVERAGE ACTIVITY & PERCENT POSITIVE LEVELS STEADY

By Kevin Zimmermann Apr 15, 2021 5:12 PM Data from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services indicate a fairly level rate of activity on many aspects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic here. While the State is displaying a 25% positive change in the trajectory of active cases over the past two weeks, Sheboygan County showed no significant change.  The percent positive average here over the past seven days was 6.2%, having experienced a short peak of 7% one week ago; Wisconsin overall was still lower at 3.8%, unchanged compared to a week ago. After reaching a low 7-day average of 363 new daily cases in Wisconsin on March 11th, that statistic rose to 808 on Thursday.  For comparison to the state, on March 13th in Sheboygan County we had a seven-day average of new cases of 13.  On the most recent day of statistics for Sheboygan County – April 13th – the figure had dropped to 9.

At the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh on Thursday literally anyone could just walk in off the street to get a COVID-19 vaccine. For some people, it was their first opportunity to get the vaccine. “I tried to get it through my doctor’s office, ThedaCare, and they didn’t have any openings,” Sandra Lacount from Menasha said. Lacount has COPD and asthma. She said she’s been trying to get a vaccine for a few weeks.

(WBAY) - State officials have extended a pause on the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine in Wisconsin as an investigation continues into people who experienced blood clots after getting the shot. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says the pause will continue until federal health officials lift their recommendation. On Wednesday, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommended the pause continue while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention collects and analyzes information about a rare and severe type of blood clot suffered by six people who got the vaccine.
