Small business owners in the Fox Cities and Green Bay are getting some help bouncing back from the pandemic. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is offering $420-million to 84-thousand businesses state-wide. WEDC Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes says the Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business Recovery Grant Program allows qualifying businesses to use their grants for just about any expenses.
“Eligible businesses will be receiving a grant of $5,000,” Hughes says. “Which can be used for any purpose. Such as paying back rent or renovating spaces or hiring staff. The intention is to get our small businesses moving again.”

Small businesses can now apply for more than 400-million dollars in grants from the latest federal COVID relief funding. Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation secretary Missy Hughes says the five-thousand-dollar checks will do a lot of work in local communities. The application deadline is June 7th. The grants are expected to help as many as 84-thousand businesses that have gross revenue between ten-thousand and seven-million dollars.

MADISON, WI Applications for up to $420 million of small business grants opened Monday, Gov. Tony Evers announced. The applications will close on 4:30 p.m. on June 7.
The grants will provide as many as 84,000 Wisconsin small businesses with annual gross revenue between $10,000 and $7 million with a flat award of $5,000, the governors office said.
The new grants will target Wisconsin small businesses, including those that started in 2020, in sectors hardest hit by the pandemic, according to the statement. Individuals and businesses interested in the grant program can find information on the Department of Revenue website.

The grants will provide flat awards of $5,000 to up to 84,000 Wisconsin businesses with annual gross revenue between $10,000 and $7 million.
Gov. Tony Evers announced Monday that the applications will open Tuesday, May 24 at 8 a.m. Applications will stay open through 4:30 p.m. on June 7.
“We want small businesses to know that help is on the way, and we’re glad to be able to announce these application dates so we can get these funds to our small businesses as quickly as possible,” Evers said. “Our businesses will be able to use these funds to restock shelves, catch up on bills, rehire and retain workers, and help continue keeping folks safe so we can bounce back together.”
