Kevin McCarthy Claims CDC Changed Mask Guidance to Distract From Gas Prices

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has claimed that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revised their guidance on masks as a result of the spike in gas prices.
The interview focused on the Republican agenda, Stefanik s new role and discussion of former President Donald Trump but McCarthy also took the opportunity to criticize the CDC s advice on masks.

Liz Cheney told ABC News she now regrets her vote for Trump in the 2020 presidential election. It was a vote based on policy . in terms of the kinds of policies he put forward, she said.

GOP Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who was ousted as the House Republican Conference Chair after continuing to challenge former President Donald Trump s false election claims, said in an ABC interview set to air on Sunday that she now regrets voting for the former president in 2020.
Cheney, a staunch conservative and the scion of a GOP political dynasty, was removed from her party s leadership on Thursday and replaced with Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, a 36-year-old lawmaker who had the backing of Trump.

The New York Congresswoman has so far got endorsements from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise and Trump. Until Roy s announcement, the path to victory seemed very clear for Stefanik. That said, it is not clear what kind of support Roy really has. He will be nominated by Rep Ken Buck on Friday, May 14. Beyond Buck, there s no word on who else is backing Roy.
One person who isn t backing Stefanik s challenger is the former president, who put out a statement almost immediately after Roy s announcement.
